Sanctified and Spirit Filled Sunday!

Since beginning my journey to get my act right with God, I've wanted to blog on Sundays after church to share what I learned. And today is a PERFECT time to do so. I'm just so filled with joy...I can't contain myself!

Today's post will be about:

I have to admit, I had to fight back tears during today's service. Not only were we singing awesome praises this morning, the sermon that Pastor Jeff gave was so powerful. It was perfect after the week I had (and boy was it a hard one). I missed the beginning of the series we're doing due to being away on vacation but, I know I can get the beginning to review which I plan on doing.

Pastor Jeff made a statement that confirmed a few things for me "I have a hard time accepting condemnation from you, if I don't know if you love/care for me". And that is so true! Just this week, someone who I thought was my friend (considering what we had been through) basically condemned me for a decision that I made. And I felt attacked, once again, and didn't appreciate it at all! We've all been in the judges seat and the accused seat at one time or another in our lives and at that moment, I felt like I was in the accused seat. But after today's sermon, I know for a fact that BOTH of us (and the third person involved) were playing Double Jeopardy.

We've heard it time and time again "Look at yourself in the mirror before you cast judgement on someone else". Do we always do that? Of course not! WHY don't we do it? I believe it's because we don't want to face the truth. Whatever that may be. I've been doing pretty good at not "judging" people since I started my journey, but I know there have been times where I was less than Christian. To the point where I won't even speak to the person. And I guess in a way, that was a type of judging huh? I don't know.

Here are 3 principles to apply when it comes to judging. And if you are a military spouse, we could DEFINITELY use these when it comes to the gossiping and cattiness on a military installation.

"How to Deal With Judging"

1. If you don't know them, you don't go to them.

2. If you are not the person to talk to them, you are not permitted to talk about them.

3. If you don't love them or care for them, you can't help them.

Simple principles that we seem to have such a hard time applying. Me included. So this coming week, I will be making it a point to refer to these principles on a daily basis. And I might even apologize to those who have been judged by me without actually knowing them. Just maybe. That big of a task might need to be done at a later date! Hey, God ain't done with me yet!! He still needs to work me out and that might be something he isn't ready for me to do yet :-) I'm just saying.

If you happen to be in the Central California area and want to check out the church I go to, check out South Valley Community Church in Lemoore, CA. It's an awesome place!
