Turbo Fire Week One Review

Week one of Turbo Fire is complete! I had way too much fun. I literally look forward to my next workout. Just when I thought I wasn't going to be able to give Chalene anymore, a new burst of energy, from somewhere out in the universe, hit me and I would be amped all over again! That second wind gets me through and then before I know it, the workout is over with leaving me wanting more ::smh:: I would say I'm pretty much addicted to Turbo Fire!

They say TF is for intermediate to advanced individuals and those who have Turbo experience (like Chalene's other programs Turbo Kick and Turbo Jam). But, neither my friend (who's been doing it with me and loving it) nor I have ever done a Turbo class and we are doing just fine. There's a "New to Class" option on the title screen and this is where Chalene breaks down the combos first with no music and then you do it to the music. Having trouble keeping the cadence? You're going right when the rest of us are going left? No worries! As long as you are moving and sweating and breathing hard you're getting the workout your body needs. You'll catch on to the combos over time.

One thing I would stress if you were thinking about getting TF is make sure you have proper shoes!! You need to be able to pivot on the balls of your feet to be easy on the knees. Trust me, you'll feel it immediately after your workout if you weren't pivoting ::speaking from experience:: I'm typically barefoot since I'm doing it on carpet. Shopping this weekend for some shoes that I will be able to get my pivot on in!

The music is AMAZING! You can time your punches, hooks and the other moves to the music perfectly. We jammed to "Play that Funky Music", "In the Ayer", "Push It!" and even "Pull Over" by Trina. You get a variety of songs that are pumped up to keep your heartrate up. I started using my heartrate monitor and I burn at least 400 calories per workout. The other day between the workout itself and the 10 minute stretch that followed, I burned 526 calories! WOW!

Today was the start of week two and I had to dig really deep to finish. My legs were tired. My core was tight from yesterday's core workout and I just ached. I pulled through though! It's great having my friend here to keep me accountable and that's really how you achieve your goals. When you have someone that you need to be accountable to, it pushes you to work harder and finish strong. So get yourself an accountability partner who you trust has your best interest in mind. It can't be just anybody! And if you don't have one, I'll be it! I'm addicted to motivating too, LOL!

Came across this quote yesterday: "What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals." - Zig Ziglar

I love it!

Until next post...
