Family Farm Fresh

I think I'm going to look forward to Mondays from now on! Monday is our day to receive our weekly Family Farm Fresh basket. I changed our selection from the Mini Basket to the Light Family Basket. I think I'm satisfied with the new basket. It is a little bigger so, maybe this is what I needed. We'll see how I make it work for us this week. The next size up would be a full bushel size! That might be TOO much, LOL!

This week we received:

Lettuce (2 different kinds)
Swiss Chard
Sugar Snap Peas
Navel Oranges
Mandarin Oranges
Cherries (they are soooooo good!)
Strawberries (Mini Me loves them)
Tomatoes
Garlic
Onions

We have two different kinds of lettuce because I asked for a substitution to the artichoke that was suppose to come. I don't know how to prepare an artichoke! Saw Alton Brown on Food Network preparing them and they looked like they required a lot of work. So, I'll tackle those another time.

I WILL be experimenting with this Swiss Chard.

Isn't it pretty?!

And look at how big this tomato is!!!

If anyone has any suggestions on recipes that include Swiss Chard, let me know! I'm always up for experimenting!

Hey Esha, artichokes are SOOO easy to make, and they're SOOOO good! I just boil mine with a slice of lemon, garlic, and a bay leaf for about 25-30 minutes or until a fork or knife inserted in the bottom goes through like a baked potato, basically it needs to be soft.
