It's Official!

YAY!! I've been waiting for him to come home so we could TTC #2. And today marks the beginning of our journey. The only downside to this exciting news is, I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) so I won't be able to get preggo with the snap of my fingers like everyone else. It took us almost 3 years to get pregnant with Mini Me. I had to take Metformin (Glucophage), Provera AND Clomid. Before that I had to see two different doctors and go in for numerous tests. We finally were able to find a doctor at the next duty station that was willing to jumpstart my cycle with the Provera. Thank goodness!! I also looked into some natural herbal methods that I am going to say helped too.

Not being able to get pregnant easily takes a toll on me mentally and emotionally. I feel like less than a woman. Sad but true. But since we KNOW what the issue is now, we're hoping it won't be quite as long until we get a BFP. So, today I started the new dosage of Metformin (1000 mg twice a day). Tomorrow will be the first day I take this new medicine called Actos. I have to take that in the morning time. I'll be assisting these "man-made" drugs with Vitex and some Red Raspberry Leaf tea. I picked up a new book called "PCOS and Your Fertility: Your Guide to Self-Care, Emotional Well-Being, and Medical Support" since I don't have my first book that I had on PCOS (I let a friend borrow it). I may even be changing up my diet (need to look into this more) and tweaking my workout routine (which hasn't been ANYTHING since he came home, LOL).

So, here we go! Wish us Luck!

I have been there with many of my friends that have PCOD. The good news is that changing your diet and exercising along with the medications acutally increases your chances of conception! Exercise and weight loss decrease insulin resistance which is one of the largest issues--hince the reason for metformin. Anywho, my girlfriend and I were on the Treadmill when she ran off to go and throw-up! God confirmed it for me right then, she was pregnant and Kennedy is 4 years old now and a total diva! We had spent many months praying, exercising and eating right and it paid off; just as it will for you too!

Loved your blog! Visiting from Lady Blogger Tea Party

I found out we were preggo with our little one when we were eating some Taco Bell. Ran from the living room to the bathroom to throw up, LOL!! I thought it was bad tacos!!
