Day 5: What Christmas Means to Me

Christmas is my favorite holiday! It seems to be a combination of the chilly weather that gives the green light to enjoying soups/stews, hot chocolate, Christmas tunes and the sense of togetherness. I don't know about you all but, like I said in my other post, Christmas seems to bring out the best in everyone. Everyone just seems so joyous! I mean, Jesus is the reason for the season right? Why WOULDN'T anyone want to be happy?

For me, Christmas reminds me that no matter what crap, negativity, arguments, and losses that may have occurred throughout the year, I am still a child of God and my family and I are covered and protected by him. This is the time I usually take to appreciate the small things that had taken place and I just ignored them. Nothing stresses me during this time of year! Ok, let me say nothing stresses me other than figuring out where we are spending Christmas and that typically ends up being with The Hubster's family in Oakland, CA. I absolutely LOVE our family up there. We join together and have a good 'ole time!

Christmas just has a calming effect over me and my household. We take the time to enjoy one another. Especially since The Hubster wasn't here last year and he won't be here with us next year either ::sniff sniff:: We've been decorating our home, the tree, having movie nights and just being a family! It feels GREAT!  I thank God for blessing me with such a great family. To think that I was so sure I would never have one, God rolled his eyes and showed me huh?! LOL! He continues blessing us when we least expect it and for that I continue giving him praises.

What does Christmas mean to you?!

I just love when God proves us wrong. He's been doing that a lot to me lately!

I love your writing! I also love your positive attitude! Last year and this year without your husband and you are focusing on the good. I know my day will come and I hope to handle it with as much grace as you do :)
